...that if you create something for yourself, the more effort you put in, the less the feedback is. And sometimes if you don't care at all and make something quickly, the feedback is huge.
Totally right. But I guess people have different reasons. Some may be just not interested in art like that and just look for the stuff that they personally like. But others may not have time to comment after a long day (maybe?) But whatever the reason, i think it's good for every person to at least give a good thorough comment one in a while.
when I made a poll asking what people like in the coloring style for some of my CG pieces. Some just replied "It's cute/good" And I was looking for more like "I like the technique/flow/blending" Y'know, specifics like those. So maybe it's just the fact people don't understand what others specifically want
My one Fanart that I did like, roughly 2 years ago still gets more faves then the original stuff that I slaved over to make it look good :/
Nie mam pojęcia czemu tak jest ale ja mam inaczej jak robię prace dla kogoś jest cudna a jak robię coś dla siebie to jest masakrycznie brzydkie:/ bez kitu wkurza mnie to:/
I notice that toooooooo! Ugh I hate it! lol I have an image in my gallery I love yet the other, fastly done and not very thought out one, is the one everyone loves. Mehhhhh lol
I've noticed it too. Back, in my old gallery, the most hyped pictures were a very random sketches done in less than a hour, with thrown photoshop filters on them.
I do not understand it either, and thanks god, i no longer care about it. But years ago it could cause a huge backlash, because it led to thinking "why should i work on improving, and getting better, since apparently it's not a good way to go, and people prefer the scrappy pics. maybe they are better for real?"
Yeah, I have seen that happen a lot too. Maybe it's because something that you didn't put too much time into gives the commenter license to give a short (and potentially meaningless) comment on it whereas something that took a ton of effort makes them think they have to give a long and in depth comment. This could scare them off from commenting because writing something in depth takes time and they want to make sure the feedback meets the effort that was put in?
So in the end then end up not commenting I dunno, just a thought
