Since CGArena has officially published my tutorial outside their e-zine, I decided to upload it here as well. However, you still can find it on their website.
Here's the walkthrough of my Natalie picture.
This tutorial was created to show my painting process, so I'm afraid it isn't meant for total beginners in digital painting/Photoshop. Although I tried to explain everything as clearly as I could. ^^
So do you do your colouring over the lineart? Because I see people managing to colour and somehow their lineart is no longer visible when they're done (or it's barely there). I usually colour under the lineart (with the rest of the lineart layer being transparent) and I'd like to get the same effect. But I'm afraid if I colour over it, I'll make mistakes or the defining lines won't be as even.
I keep coming back to this tutorial as it is the type of technique I'm trying to emulate, but it's really hard to get anything like similar results. Can you tell me how you achieve such smooth transition between the skin tones on the face? Mine always ends up looking streaky.
What Great Tutorials- i guess i´ve been missing these important details outlined here in my work :/ Thank you very much for sharing your precious knowledge on this subject.
